After looking into the web site settings for a user who was getting 404 Not Found issues on recipe pages, I have found an issue of poor documentation. It is not a bug, but I wanted to post about it so that everyone knows.
The problem occurred when the user selected the same page to display the recipes, categories, and cuisines. With this setup, the recipe list would show, but the recipes would not. Nor would any of the categories or cuisines. I will look to see if it is possible to have this type of setup, but I have to assume it is not.
So, if your recipes are not showing, you should look at those settings. Make sure you have different pages set for each of those three pages, as well as the page for the form, so that things work properly. Actually, come to think of it, you should either select “Do not display” or a separate page for every one of those, otherwise the plugin code won’t know what to display on each page.
